Corporate social responsibility towards employees: the case of a colombian SMEs

Monica García Solarte, Andrés R. Azuero Rodríguez, Laura Salas Arbeláez

Abstract

An increasing number of contributions have highlighted the importance that the Corporate Social Responsibility has had on each of the stakeholders, and its actions in organizations. The number of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Colombia and in the world is increasingly bigger, and their acceptance of business paradigms are becoming more different. Research has shown that the Corporate Social Responsibility and its relation to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises is limited, and even more, if they consider the perception of employees, as main stakeholders. In that sense, this work determines, based on a representative case study in Colombia, whether Corporate Social Responsibility practices led by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises are perceived by employees.
